Big Mountain Lodge is on the Kvichak (kweejack) River, one mile from the outlet of Iliamna, Alaska's largest lake.On the Alaska Peninsula with over 5,000 square miles of fresh, clear water, Iliamna has many world class angling streams, whose trout migrate to the Kvichak. The Kvichak and it's tributaries are well known to anglers around the world for monster rainbow trout, some larger than 20 pounds! You can fish all five species of Pacific salmon. The Kvichak salmon runs from world famous Bristol Bay are not surpassed - every salmon in Iliamna swims by our front door. During the peak sockeye run, over 40,000 fish swim by the lodge each hour.
